Dress Code
For business people, the norm is dark, conservative clothing - a
two-piece suit and tie, unless business meetings take place in informal
places or in the countryside. Outside of business, casual clothes such
as jeans and shorts are acceptable for men but may make you conspicuous
as a foreigner. Locals will tend to wear casual conservative clothes
for most non-business occasions. Smoking jackets are only used for
diplomatic or extremely formal events. A dark suit is recommended for
nighttime meetings or funerals.
