Our La Escultura Estate enjoys the cooling breezes from the Pacific Ocean together with the tempering influences to the nearby Los Perales reservoir, which reduces the high temperatures at the same time as increasing the lower ones. This helps achieve better ripening and better balance.
This area of the Casablanca Valley is ideal for white grape varieties, as do the soils. These have especially low fertility and superb drainage qualities, being mainly sandy, whereas other parts of the valley have clay soils, which have more vigour and retain water.
At La Escultura we strive to achieve balance in the vineyard, to which end we use the latest “canopy management” techniques, controlling the canopy of leaves on the vines to give us perfect fruit ripening and balanced grapes. We keep our viticulture natural and non-interventionist, so we do not use fertilizers, applying manure to act as natural compost.
