In the latest edition of Descorchados, the most influential wine publication in South America written by wine critic Patricio Tapia, Viñedo Chadwick 2016 and Las Pizarras Chardonnay 2017 were distinguished with the two most important categories of the guide: Best Red and Best White, over more than 2,000 wines tasted. In the words of Patricio Tapia, “of all wines we taste year after year, these two are my favorites.  No doubt, the greatest honor a wine can achieve in Descorchados.”

These recognitions acquire even greater relevance considering this is the second year in a row that same wines –red and white- are chosen as the best in Chile, an unprecedented scenario never seen before in the two decades of Descorchados.

Eduardo Chadwick, President of Viña Errázuriz, commented: “With great pride we receive these recognitions that crown the very successful path of two of our iconic wines, Las Pizarras Chardonnay and Viñedo Chadwick. Being chosen as the Best White Wine and Best Red Wine for the second year in a row in this prestigious publication is indeed one of the greatest acknowledgements for Viña Errázuriz.”

With 98 points, Las Pizarras Chardonnay 2017 was also chosen Best Chilean Chardonnay and Best Wine from Aconcagua Costa. Viñedo Chadwick 2016 was also awarded with 98 points and chosen Best Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile and Best Wine from Maipo Alto, besides the distinction of Best Red Wine in Chile.

Don Maximiano Founder’s Reserve, the winery’s flagship wine, was awarded with 97 points, placed in the list of Best Red Wines, Best Red Blends, and chosen the best wine from Aconcagua Valley.
